Adaptive Tabletop Gaming

What iS Adaptive TableTop Gaming?

Please, REach out with Any questions!

Similar to adaptive video gaming, our goal is to help individuals enjoy tabletop games (board games, card games, dice games, etc.!). For anyone who has barriers that inhibit the participation and enjoyment of tabletop games, we are here to assist in identifying and implementing adaptations to overcome these barriers.

For each of our Adaptive Tabletop Gaming Events, we host the following:

1. Dungeons & Dragons New Player - Introduction to D&D for beginners

This event is open to all adaptive gamers and their families who are interested in playing or learning about Dungeons & Dragons! We will include an introduction to the game and explain the rules and how the game is played. You do not have to have any previous knowledge of Dungeons & Dragons, and we will provide you with all you need to get started (we provide the dice, characters, etc!). After the introduction to the game, we will then play a one-shot session for you to try out the game and further learn how the game is played. We can assist you with any barriers (physical, neurocognitive, etc.) that you may have to aid you in playing. Once you feel comfortable, we can integrate you into the ongoing D&D campaign (see below) so you can continue to enjoy the game of D&D.

2. Dungeons & Dragons Lost Mine of Phandelver - The ongoing campaign for players who have played D&D before

This is open to all adaptive gamers and their families who know how to play D&D. For those who are new to the game, after playing in our D&D New Player Introduction, we can integrate you into this ongoing campaign so you can continue playing D&D. We can assist you with any barriers (physical, neurocognitive, etc.) that you may have to aid you in playing.

3. Tabletop Gaming Library! - Try out any of our games from our growing tabletop gaming library

Open to any and all adaptive gamers and their families! You can pick any available game from our gaming library and we can assist you in teaching the rules and we can assist you with with any barriers (physical, neurocognitive, etc.) that you may have to aid you in playing.

The adaptive tabletop gaming events will take place at Butler University's Esports Park (4702 Sunset Ave #900, Indianapolis, IN 46208) and will run from 3pm to 5pm (but can go as late as 7pm, if needed). This is the same location and dates as our adaptive video gaming event (which goes from 5pm to 7pm); feel free to start with tabletop gaming and later dive into some video gaming as well, if you'd like!
