Who We Are

Rx Gaming was founded in 2022 by Austin Scott, MD. The program started as a way to introduce adaptive video gaming into the local community through collaboration between two organizations: The AbleGamers Charity and The Bridge Adaptive Sports and Recreation. While the organization initially started in Cincinnati it quickly expanded to Indianapolis with plans for further expansion.

Initial efforts included one on one evaluations through the hospital setting. However, this was limiting at times and a hospital is not a "fun" place to visit. This led to a new tradition of monthly community events at a local venues. In Cincinnati we partner with  Velocity Esports, and in Indianapolis we partner with Butler University Esports.

We aim to be a resource for our community by helping to break down barriers to gaming. Members of our community that have a barrier to gaming can get one on one, in person support to help identify their barriers and overcome those barriers with adaptive equipment and techniques. We hold monthly events in our community to provide this service. When we identify a solution that works, we send that gamer home with all of the equipment that day, free of cost, so they can start playing with family and friends again.

We invite our gamers to return each month to create a community of gamers overcoming barriers, fostering relationships, and combating social isolation.

This program continues on a monthly basis where new gamers can come for one on one evaluations and old gamers can return and play games with the community.
