On October 19th, we gathered once again at Butler University’s Esports Park for another unforgettable Adaptive Gaming Night. This event marked not only the return of some of our favorite games and gamers, but also the exciting introduction of a new player and new adaptive technology.

Each event brings its own energy—and this night was no exception. From high-octane Mario Kart races to laid-back farming sessions in Stardew Valley, the joy of gaming filled every corner of the venue. But more than just playing games, this night was about connection—building friendships, fostering inclusion, and strengthening our growing community of adaptive gamers.

Returning Favorites and a New Challenger

Three returning games took center stage: the creative sandbox of Minecraft, the relaxing rhythm of Stardew Valley, and the ever-competitive Fortnite. These games offered something for everyone—whether you wanted to build a village, tend to crops, or go head-to-head in the arena.

We were also thrilled to welcome a new gamer to our group. With the help of the QuadStick, a mouth-operated joystick for individuals with limited hand mobility, he didn’t just play—he won multiple rounds of Mario Kart. Seeing his skill and excitement reminded us why these events matter so much.

Inspired by this success, we’ve started developing our own version of the QuadStick, tailored to the unique needs of our community. It’s a step toward even more accessible and personalized gaming experiences, and we’re excited to share more as this project evolves.

Building a Community Through Play

As always, these nights are about more than just technology—they’re about people. Returning gamers were reunited with friends, new friendships were formed, and everyone found a place at the table (or screen). The energy was warm, supportive, and inclusive—proof that gaming, when made accessible, can be a powerful tool for building relationships and community.

Whether cheering each other on during races, collaborating in Minecraft builds, or quietly sharing tips in Stardew Valley, the bonds formed through these shared experiences are real and lasting. We’re building something special—a space where everyone can belong.

Thank You to Our Partners

Events like this wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of our partners. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Butler Esports for hosting us in their fantastic space, and to Reel Pipe and Valve for being our food sponsor! Your continued support helps make each gathering welcoming, accessible, and fun.

We’re so grateful to everyone who attended, volunteered, or helped spread the word. Your energy and kindness fuel our mission to make gaming inclusive for all.

Keep the Momentum Going

With every event, our adaptive gaming community grows stronger—and we couldn’t do it without you. If you’d like to support our work, consider making a donation at https://www.rxgaming.org/donate. Your support helps us develop custom adaptive tech, plan future events, and keep building a space where everyone can play and connect.

Thank you for being part of this journey. We can’t wait to see you at the next one.
